Our Story

Carter & Rye began in 2019 at the Omaha Farmers Market with a table full of hand pies and a hope that people might show up hungry.

They did—and they keep showing up. In 2021, we opened our brick-and-mortar shop on Center Street in Hanscom Park where we now bake and serve pies Friday through Sunday.

Though the storefront is our current home, the farmers market will always be our roots. We return every season to stay grounded in the place that gave us our start and the community that believed in us from day one.

Behind the scenes, Carter & Rye is a seven-day-a-week operation. We’re always rolling dough, filling pies, baking, and prepping for the next weekend. We hold ourselves to standards that don’t exactly scale—which is fine by us. We’re not here to grow fast; we’re here to grow with care. It’s a true labor of love powered by a small team who pours their hearts into the experience. We believe good food should feel good to eat. We’re honored to feed you, and we’re endlessly grateful that you show up for it.
